Baptism

June 20, 2015

MJ was baptized at St. Athanasius Parish in Reading,  MA. So many people came from a good deal away just to see MJ get baptized. Thirty close friends and members of family from both sides of the tree came to be a part of the moment. Kim and I  couldn't have been happier, too. Seeing so many people at the baptism showed us that MJ has good people in her corner.

We really appreciate people coming from Maine, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. Getting to Reading on a Saturday morning for a 9:30 am baptism is a difficult thing to do with everyone's life being so busy. So we really appreciate everyone making an effort to be there.

At the baptism, MJ was pretty well behaved. After all, she turned 3 months old the day of the baptism so she hasn't had too many opportunities to misbehave in the first place. She only peeped once when the water was poured on her head by the priest, other wise she handled being the center of attention really well.

Later, when people were at the house, she continued with her good behavior. Although she slept most of the time, probably due to all of the excitement and hubbub and festivities, I think people got a chance to enjoy the beautiful day and MJ. Beth wooed her to sleep, Chenelle found out that MJ can be a little fussy, and Allison got a chance to hold her goddaughter again.

All in all, it was a great event and Kim and I are so grateful for the people in our lives. Having everyone come together to celebrate MJ meant a lot to us. We plan to have more wonderful occasions to bring people together. Thanks for making the baptism special for us.
